CHECKLIST

DPS Processing Appointment

Please send us an email request for your specific checklist of what to bring. Checklist for Road Tests depend on age, permit status, course completion status, and type of course completed. We will help you navigate the process and can virtually check your paperwork and answer all of your questions in advance!

All Student will need to bring:

Texas Permit or Texas Provisional License, with Restriction B
Payment
Certificate of Drivers Education
Logs of TEEN program ( Those who took the ADULT program can skip)
Car Insurance
IMPACT Certificate

DPS Processing Appointment

I would recommend setting an appointment at the DPS office in advance.

You can go for processing the same day as your appointment for the ROAD TEST or set it for any day after. If you have trouble setting your appointment, let me know. Keep in mind, it could take a few attempts/days to get a great selection.

*Tips:

Try different DPS offices (the farther from the center of Dallas you travel, the quicker you can get in. You can go to any DPS office in the State of Texas)
Try logging in the early morning during weekdays to find a wider selection of appointments.
You can create an appointment under the parent's name to look with more than one account. This way you can keep rescheduling without the risk of losing your other appointment.

Logs: PARENT TAUGHT HELP SECTION (CHECKLIST ITEM #4)

The goal of the logs is to fill out your parent taught certificate. They illustrate that you have completed your student's driving hours to the DPS, Traffic Court, and to the road tester.

Depending on your program, your logs might look slightly different (there are 250+ online programs approved in Texas). Great resources below to see how the logs and certificates are used to complete your program.

*You do not have to use the official logs your program gave you - you can use logs from another program or even a piece of notebook paper. Please review and let me know if you have any questions!
